Terms and Conditions
The Program
1. The duration of each level is thirty hours, and each level lasts for 2.0-2.5 months (3 days/ week frequency). However, each level cannot exceed 3-month periods.
2. If >50 % of the students on any particular day are absent from the class, then the class for that day is canceled.
3. Students absent on a particular day can utilize the recording option (with prior information only). Students may download and listen to the missed classes and discuss concepts after the regular class.
4. During the program, If a student is absent from classes for more than one month without prior intimation, the student is considered discontinued. If a discontinued student wants to rejoin, a fresh application is needed.
5. We sincerely advise students to make sure they have at least 2.5 months of free time to attend classes without interruption (for each level) to maintain interest and continuity in the learning environment.
Assessment and grading
1. There will be two tests during each level.
2. Students will be assessed and graded during the program based on their memory of vocabulary, grammar, speaking, reading, writing, listening, and interaction in the class.
3. The overall evaluation will be done based on the score obtained in the following categories
Class room interactions (20%), homework/activity tasks (30%), attendance (20%), two unit tests (30%).
3. Students will be graded to pass (> 50%) and fail (<50%) based on a cumulative percentage of marks they secure.
4. We advise students to submit their homework and other tasks given in time so that we facilitate proper assessment and evaluation of the progress.
The Fee
1. The fee for each level is 13,500 (Group class >4 students). The fee structure of the one-on-one class and corporate classes is different and can be enquired separately.
2. Discounts are applicable only under special conditions and based on the class strength. We will update the available discounts on the website.
2. A full fee has to be paid after taking the first free class.
3. Subject to the class strength (Group classes), students may be allowed to pay the fees in two installments. At the start of the program (65%) and after one month (35%).
Refund policy
1. Once the registered class is commenced, then there is no refund of the course fee. The fee paid is nonrefundable. A written permission must be submitted if student wish to cancel or postpone the class to a later date. The lessons must be completed no longer than 4 months after the starting date of the class payment was intended for. The payment is valid for 4 months.
2. KLCS reserves the right to postpone the start-date of a class if the minimum number of students for class is not enough. If the proposed batch does not start on time, student may be refunded the full tuition payment.
The course material
1. Each registered student will receive a free textbook and workbook (SOFT COPIES). Students may take cheap printouts at their own cost
2. Students can also purchase original books from our center at a discounted price. Contact us if in case you require original textbooks
Make up Classes
We try to arrange makeup classes (A maximum of three sessions per term) for every registered student. However, students should request in advance for the arrangement of a revision/ Makeup lesson.
Makeup sessions are only available to registered students only. Passed-out students may not be able to avail of makeup classes.
Private lesson policy
1. The private class session is valid for 3 months from the date of registration. Learning a new language requires certain level of commitment and consistency. Hence we request students to be regular for classes and gain best learning experience.
2. A lesson cancellation must be made at least 6 hours in advance of the scheduled time. so that we can arrange an alternate day for the lesson.
3. We understand that most last-minute cancellations happens due to reasons beyond your control. As a result, each term allows for up to three last-minute cancellations.
Online Classes Policy
1. The online classes are conducted using zoom platform. It is student's responsibility to attend the online classes using proper network environment. Kindly restrain from attending online classes while your are travelling, or in restaurants, pubs etc.
2. We encourage students to switch off video cam while class is on. However, in certain conditions, such as group activities we may ask students to switch on their cams to encourage the student participation during activity sessions.
3. The materials, videos, links of recordings of online classes is sole property of KLCS and is only intended for student personal use. The class teaching recording, materials or links shared with the students can't be shared to others or used for commercial benefits.
The outcomes of the program
1. Sogang programs are structured self-paced learning programs and are not considered training for the TOPIK exam.
2. The vocabulary and grammar taught in the programs (1A - 6B) will help achieve the Intermediate level of TOPIK. For further details, please check our proficiency equivalence chart.
3. It is the student’s responsibility to continuously practice the components of each level even after program completion till they appear for standard exams such as TOPIK.
4. We advise students to spend at least 1 hour per day to revise the lessons taught in the class and complete and submit the homework/ tests given on time.
5. The outcomes of the program depend on the involvement of the student in the class sessions, learning, and continuous practice
Certification
1. Students securing 50 % above score will only be issued a course completion certificate.
2. You can also opt for no assessment and grading required (in case, you don’t want assessment.)
Proficiency Certificate
1. Students who have taken at least two levels can check their proficiency by taking the suitable level of the Test of Proficiency in Korean Language (TOPIK exam) conducted by the Korean government in India.
2. It is the student's responsibility to register and attend the exam at their own expense. The institute will take no responsibility for the application and transportation of students to different exam centers where the TOPIK examination takes place
3. Interested students may periodically check the official websites of the Korean Culture Center in India for updates on TOPIK test dates and the application process.
Other terms
KLCS reserves the right to postpone or cancel lessons.(due to unforeseen situations such as the teacher falling ill).
KLCS reserves the right to provide relief or replacement teachers to take over classes.
Student Terms & Conditions may be amended from time to time.
Student's registration information is used for information dissemination about the school and class.
Images/videos of students in the class room activities are deemed property of KLCS and may be used for publicity purposes at its sole discretion.
By making payment for course or registering for a program at KLCS, I accept terms and conditions.
